When I bookmark something on SU I usually get between 30-60 hits in the first hour and then a steady number or referrals from that point on. If you're not bookmarking your website on SU then you are missing out one of the best social networking platforms online. The best thing is that you can engage people instantly and get even more stumbles.

2. Reddit

Reddit given me steady web traffic for a very long time. This website is by far the biggest social media bookmarking site on the Internet. However, you have to be careful with Reddit. I have tried to bookmark multiple posts in a single day and had my account frozen for a month.

Stick to one or two posts per day and you should be fine. If you need to bookmark more than this, consider using another site. Reddit is high PR and has a lot of users. Once you submit your link you will see around 30 hits on your site.

3. Tumblr

Tumblr is excellent for getting instant traffic to your website. When you submit a link, make sure that you are using the hashtag features. So many people miss out on great traffic because they do not put hashtags on their posts.

A lot of people use Tumblr as their main blogging platform so you will be competing, but it's worth it. Write a great post and you will get instant traffic back to your site with little to no effort. You can follow people in your niche and get followers to insure that your posts are read, but I haven't found this very necessary.


4. Newsvine

NewsVine is a great for getting web traffic for one reason: Google loves it. When you bookmark your posts on NewsVine, users instantly see it.

This is a news based social networking platform, but that doesn't mean that you have to post news. They have a "not news" section that you can put your posts into. Once bookmarked, you will also have some very high PR links pointing back to your website.

5. Yahoo Voices

One of the best websites that you can use for instant web traffic is Yahoo Voices. This is an excellent site with high PR that you can contribute to, but you have to know how to use it. The "news" section of Yahoo Voices is the best way to get instant traffic to your blog or website.
