seo Attributes Of A Great Web Browser For Students 2013

Seo Master present to you:

Attributes Of A Great Web Browser For Students
Img.Credit:freedigitalphotos
Getting work done as a student involves constant research and a reliable web browser. Let's go over the attributes of a great web browser for students.

While many students first work with Internet Explorer when they are younger, other choices may prove more appealing. Recently, web browsers such as Chrome , TorchBrowser, and Firefox have gained broad audiences. Additional choices for mobile use mean students can continue working away from laptops and desktop computers.

A great web browser should make the basic functions easy to handle. Downloads should be a snap to start and they should be quick to locate once completed. Ideally, a user should be able to enable a master password to protect user names and passwords for websites. Keyboard shortcuts that aren't complicated make work flow faster for research throughout the day.

Tab Management:

The ability to manage tabs is another important factor for students. Researching a paper can involve the use of multiple tabs during a browsing session. Firefox's ability to make tab groups as separate sections is a plus.

Speed is an essential attribute as well. A student can't waste time waiting for a browser to load forever. Loading pages, even with multiple tabs open, shouldn't take longer than a few seconds. Gregg Keizer of Computerworld notes that Google recently added a speed boost to the latest version of Chrome. Another useful tool is a speed dial feature like the one in Opera. The speed dial displays a user's favorite sites on opening the browser.

Synchronization:

Synchronizing browsers between different computers is a must-have feature for students. This is useful if commuting between school and home or working on a lab partner's computer. It's also handy if one switches between operating systems like a Mac at school and a Windows PC at home. Firefox Sync allows a student to share passwords, tabs, history and bookmarks between various computers. A user signing into a Google account on Chrome can opt for synchronizing too.

Mobile browsers allow students to learn in the library, to learn right outside of class or to learn on the go. A mobile browser should be robust and able to open a student's essential websites properly. It should also let a user switch between an iPad, a smartphone and a laptop seamlessly. Mobile versions of Chrome and Firefox are available. Opera is installed on many mobile devices. Dolphin is another useful mobile browser for tablets and smartphones.

Customization:

Extensions and add-ons bring useful features to a web browser. A great web browser should have a broad range of extensions and add-ons with helpful user reviews. Look for extensions and add-ons that enhance research and improve social networking. Others can block websites when students don't want to be distracted or check for grammar errors.

Students should also check into a web browser's privacy features,
  • If sharing a computer, it should be easy to sign out of a web browser.
  • Erasing cookies and browsing history should be fast.
  • Anonymous tabs and windows should be quick to implement.
Everyone loves to personalize their computers and mobile devices. A web browser can be just as eye-catching with customized themes featuring colorful graphics and art. The web browser should allow users to easily customize fonts and background colors as well.

Selecting the right web browser can contribute to a student's productivity. Look over the attributes of a great web browser for students to find a good fit.

seo Announcing Data Intensive Scalable Computing in Education Workshop 2013

Seo Master present to you:

For the last year or so, we've been telling you about educational and research partnerships resulting form our Academic Cloud Computing Initiative. We've shared educational material resulting from our extensive partnership with the University of Washington and partnered with the National Science Foundation to directly engage the research community and provide access to a large scale, data intensive computing cluster.

Why? Because big data is cool; it drives nearly everything we do here at Google and provides unprecedented opportunities for understanding science in new ways. It's been an exciting year learning how to work with the academic community in this space, and we'd like to start sharing that with other passionate educators.

To that end, we've worked with our academic partners to offer a two and a half day NSF-sponsored workshop, hosted at UW, which will focus on providing material and curricular support to undergraduate computer science educators seeking to address big data in the classroom. This will largely focus on material that can be found on Google Code University, but will include practical lab components so educators can get their hands dirty with the open source platforms and the tools necessary to offer a class.

Interested faculty should feel free to apply for attendance here. The NSF has provided support to cover expenses for those selected to attend.2013, By: Seo Master

seo Google Chrome at Google I/O 2010 2013

Seo Master present to you: We kicked off Day 1 of Google I/O this year by highlighting the progress of the web platform.

The Day 1 keynote included a number of exciting announcements and demos from the Chrome Team. To demonstrate the power of building with HTML5, Sundar Pichai invited on stage a number of Chrome partners, including Clicker who demonstrated the power of video and highlighted one of the big open questions for the web: the need for a freely available, high quality video codec for the tag. With the support of Mozilla, Opera, and Adobe, we announced the launch of the WebM Project, which makes a high quality video codec freely available to everyone.

We also announced the upcoming Chrome Web Store, which will launch later this year to help make great web applications more discoverable. We showed how rich web apps and content like Sports Illustrated will be discovered, launched, and even purchased from the Web Store when it launches later this year.

In addition to our keynote announcements, the Chrome Team also led a number of sessions throughout both days of the conference, focusing on Chrome, HTML5, and the web as a platform.

Here’s a recap of what was covered in our sessions:
  • Beyond JavaScript: programming the web with native code - Although JavaScript performance is rapidly increasing, there are still applications for which native code is a better choice. Learn about Native Client and how you can use it to build rich applications with all of the advantages and power of the web.
  • Chrome Extensions - how-to - Google Chrome shipped an extensions API in version 4.0. Since last year, new capabilites have been added to the extensions framework, and many people have already written powerful extensions with minimal effort. Find out how to write an extension, and what's coming next in Chrome Extensions.
  • HTML5 status update - Where is HTML5 today? What new features are now broadly supported, what features are on the horizon, and what features are on the chopping block? How do we decide what to implement, what to propose, and what to drop? Find out.
  • Developing web apps for the Chrome Web Store - Google Chrome is a powerful platform for developing web apps. With Chrome web apps, we're making it easier for users to discover and use these apps. Learn how to build and sell apps for the Chrome Web Store.
  • WebM Open Video Playback in HTML5 - The new open VP8 codec and WebM file format present exciting opportunities for innovation in HTML5 . In this session, you'll see WebM playback in action while YouTube and Brightcove engineers show you how to support the format in your own HTML5 site.
  • Google Chrome's Developer Tools - In this session we'll give an overview of Developer Tools for Google Chrome that is a part of the standard Chrome distribution. Chrome Developer Tools allow inspecting, debugging and tuning the web applications and many more. In addition to this overview we would like to share some implementation details of the Developer Tools features and call for your contribution.
  • Developing With HTML5 - This session covers the HTML5 APIs available to Google Chrome and Google Chrome OS applications and Google Chrome extensions. Learn how to design web applications for a Google Chrome OS netbook using the latest web technologies.
  • Using Google Chrome Frame - Google Chrome Frame brings the HTML5 platform and fast Javascript performance to IE6, 7 & 8. This session will cover the latest on Google Chrome Frame, what it can do for you and your customers, how it can be used, and a sneak peak into what's planned next.

In case you couldn’t attend in-person, all the links above include videos and slides from each session. You can also find all the Chrome session videos on this YouTube playlist. Thanks to everyone who showed up this year and made Google I/O such a great event.

from web contents: Update to Webmaster Tools Search Queries 2013

salam every one, this is a topic from google web master centrale blog:

Webmaster level: All

Last year we relaunched an exciting feature in Webmaster Tools: Search Queries, an analysis tool that visualizes your site’s presence in our search results. It has two main parts: an interactive graph, and a table containing detailed data related to queries for which your site appears in our search results.

Two of the most important pieces of information in the table are ‘impressions’ and ‘clicks.’ ‘Impressions’ shows the number of times your pages were shown in the search results for a certain query, and ‘clicks’ is how many times users actually clicked on a result from your site.

Based on webmaster feedback, today we’re announcing a slight change in how these numbers are represented in Webmaster Tools, to simplify their interpretation. Instead of showing numbers rounded to two or three digits, the numbers will now be shown with one or two significant digits. For example, instead of Webmaster Tools showing you 246,000 impressions, it will now show 250,000 impressions, which is a nicer representation for a better, less confusing experience. We have not altered the way we calculate the numbers internally, but only changed how we round them in Webmaster Tools. Generally, a difference of less than 10% between the numbers you see now and those you saw prior to this change should not be considered significant.

Impressions before and after today’s Search Queries update

We hope that this update makes Search Queries easier to understand. If you want to learn more about this feature you can visit our Help Center. If you have feedback or suggestions for Search Queries, please let us know in the Webmaster Help Forum.

seo Spring cleaning for some of our APIs 2013

Seo Master present to you:
By Adam Feldman, APIs Product Manager

UPDATE June 3: In the days since we announced the deprecation of the Translate API, we’ve seen the passion and interest expressed by so many of you, through comments here (believe me, we read every one of them) and elsewhere. I’m happy to share that we’re working hard to address your concerns, and will be releasing an updated plan to offer a paid version of the Translate API. Please stay tuned; we’ll post a full update as soon as possible.

Google I/O is always an exciting time for developers. This year we made 34 separate announcements, including 7 new APIs:
With all of the recent API announcements, our API directory is getting quite long! However, some of our older APIs have been superseded by bigger and better things and others may not be receiving the necessary love.

As the web evolves and priorities change, we sometimes deprecate APIs – that is, remove them from active development – to free up resources and concentrate on moving forward. Today we're announcing a spring cleaning for some of our APIs.

Note that the vast majority of Google APIs are not affected by this announcement.

Following the standard deprecation period – often, as long as three years – some of the deprecated APIs will be shut down. The rest have no scheduled date for shutdown, but won’t get any new features. The policy for each deprecated API is specified in its documentation.
Wherever possible, the documentation includes suggested alternatives designed to help you achieve similar functionality — whether it’s a new version or related offering. We hope these alternatives, along with lengthy deprecation periods, will help minimize the impact and allow us to focus on building great products together.

Adam Feldman is a Product Manager, focusing on all of Google's APIs and making sure Google provides the best possible platform to developers.

seo The Social Web at Google I/O 2010 2013

Seo Master present to you: Google I/O attendees and speakers this year had the opportunity to participate in some fascinating and important conversations around the social web. The Developer Sandbox featured 16 companies on hand to talk about their social efforts, including Atlassian, eBay, IBM, LinkedIn, MySpace, Ning, Plaxo, Playfish, Yahoo!, and Voxeo.

In addition, nine sessions on social topics took place during the 2-day conference -- dealing with everything from real-time streams to OpenSocial in the enterprise. Of particular emphasis were open standards such as ActivityStreams, PubSubHubbub, OAuth, Salmon, and Webfinger that are fast becoming the foundational technologies for a more open and social web. The Google Buzz API was announced and covered in detail. And, of course, a deep look was taken at the future of the social web.

This is a big year for the social web, and we hope that the videos and slides from each session will expand your knowledge of and engagement with these exciting ideas and technologies:
  • Fireside chat with the Social Web team - Rockstars of the Social Web team at Google gather to talk with attendees about a truly open and social web.

  • What's the hubbub about Google Buzz APIs? - Chris Chabot introduces the Google Buzz API and provides a deep dive on the open standards it uses such as ActivityStreams, PubSubHubbub, OAuth, Salmon, and WebFinger, and demonstrates how to build your own apps on top of the API.

  • Surf the stream: Google Buzz, location, and social gaming - Bob Aman and Timothy Jordan continue the Google Buzz API party with Buzz Bingo, a social game built on App Engine and Google Buzz.

  • iGoogle developer portal and tools - The iGoogle Gadget Dashboard and the OpenSocial Development Environment are introduced by Shih-chia Cheng and Albert Cheng to help you build and maintain better OpenSocial gadgets for iGoogle.

  • Make your application real-time with PubSubHubbub - Atom and RSS feeds are even more valuable when they’re pushed to subscribers in real-time. In this session, Brett Slatkin (Google) and Julien Genestoux (Superfeedr) show you how to implement PubSubHubbub for better stream publishing and consumption.

  • The open & social web - Chris Messina uses a cartoon narrative to tell the epic story of Jack and Kate, explaining how immigration, staying in touch, and sharing rich media relate to emerging technologies like OpenID, WebFinger, and publishing technologies like PubSubHubbub, ActivityStreams, and Salmon.

  • Bridging the islands: Building fluid social experiences across websites - Once you’ve seen Chris Messina’s talk on the open & social web, you’re bound to ask how you connect your site to the rest of the Social Web to increase traffic, engagement, and relevance. John Panzer and Joseph Smarr give you the answer: by adopting the awesome open technologies described in this talk!

  • Where is the social web going next? - Kara Swisher moderates a panel of leading experts from LinkedIn, Yahoo, Google, Microsoft, Twitter, and MySpace debating issues like privacy and providing their best guesses at the direction of the foundational technologies of the social web.

  • Best practices for implementing OpenSocial in the Enterprise - Experts in the deployment of OpenSocial in the enterprise gather to talk implementation and best practices as well as review existing challenges.

You can also find all the Social Web I/O 2010 session videos on this YouTube playlist.

We had a great time at Google I/O this year and look forward to a long and fruitful discussion of everything social as we continue to work hard at making the the web more social, and the social web more open. Stay tuned to our progress on the Google Social Web Blog

seo Google I/O: Now online, starting with all things Client 2013

Seo Master present to you: The Google Client Team had an exciting and inspiring two days last week at Google I/O. We had the opportunity to talk to developers and have insightful conversations on what we're doing in the realm of HTML 5, Chrome, V8, Native Client, and 3D graphics on the web.

Today we're excited to reflect on these conversations at I/O, and kick off a series of videos and presentations from Google I/O. Starting with the Client track today, session videos and presentations from I/O will be posted online over the course of the next seven days and free to the world, on the Google I/O website.

Chrome: Extensions, Internals, V8 and more

Aaron Boodman gave a great talk on creating extensions for Chrome, and built several extensions live during his talk. I think this reflects our commitment to make it easy to build extensions, and I hope that developers -- not only those in the room, but those around the world who watch the recorded video of Aaron's talk -- will be inspired to create great extensions.

Darin Fisher delved into Chrome internals, managing to cover large swaths of Chrome code, philosophy, and lore without breaking a sweat. Darin's talk is a great way for developers to see that Chrome is more than just a fast browser with a slick UI -- we believe that developers at I/O came away realizing that there is a lot going on behind the scenes that sets Chrome apart.

Mads Ager talked about V8, walking attendees through the reason Google decided to build a new JavaScript engine, how some of the internals of V8 work including hidden classes, inline caching and garbage collection, and recent improvements made to further speed up JavaScript execution in V8. We were glad to present a thought-provoking session for developers, as attendees left the session with impressed and contemplative looks on their faces.

HTML5, Native Client, O3D and moving the web forward

Matt Papakipos, in addition to making an appearance in Wednesday's keynote, gave a great talk on where Chrome is, with respect to HTML5 and the open web platform. He explored what the platform means for developers, how they can use it, as well as the vision going forward. Matt delivered this talk to a packed room - attendees were spilling out to the aisles and doorways in our largest session room at the Moscone Convention Center in San Francisco. We're thrilled and humbled that developers are as excited as we are about the web platform and where we are taking it.

At the session on Native Client, Brad Chen got developers excited about the possibility of running native code as part of their web applications. Brad gave a comprehensive low-down on how Native Client works, and how it can be used to further strengthen the platform and move the web forward.

Vangelis Kokkevis and Gregg Tavares gave a talk on bringing 3D graphics to the web via O3D. Vangelis started the presentation with an overview of the O3D project and its goals and highlighted some its most significant features. Gregg then took over and demonstrated how, in a few simple steps, one can go from a blank HTML page to the beginnings of an entertaining mini-game with only a handfull of calls to the O3D API.

In addition, Henry Bridge led a panel with developers from Large Animal and Crazy Pixel, sharing insights about developing 3D graphics applications using O3D and getting developers excited about 3D on the web. You can also view sandbox video interviews with these two developers (Large Animal, Crazy Pixel) in the Developer Sandbox section, along with many other developers.

Browsers and standards development

To give developers more insight into how standards development and implementation in browsers work, we put together a panel with Jonas Sicking from Mozilla, Charles McCathieNevile from Opera, and myself, moderated by Mike Schroepfer (formerly of Mozilla now at Facebook). At this session, we talked more about the vision advanced by various browsers, and deliberated questions on where the browsers and the web are going.

Beyond the sessions, I/O provided the Client team the opportunity to interact with developers through Fireside Chats, where developers freely asked a broad range of questions. We also staffed Chrome Office Hours, where I/O attendees could stop by with their burning questions about the browser and chat with the team. We got developers excited about Chrome extensions, HTML5, <video>, O3D and more at the the Client developer sandbox pod.

All in all, we're thrilled to have spent two days with developers in conversation about Chrome, the web platform, and a shared future that we are all working so hard to create. We're excited to now bring these conversations to a larger community of developers with our I/O session videos and presentations. If you like, drop us comments through the Google Friend Connect gadget we have enabled on the session web pages - we'd be delighted to hear from you.

from web contents: URL removal explained, Part IV: Tracking your requests & what not to remove 2013

salam every one, this is a topic from google web master centrale blog: Webmaster Level: All

In this final installation in our URL removal series, let's talk about following up on your removal requests, as well as when not to use Google's URL removal tool. If you haven't already, I recommend reading the previous posts in this series:
Part I: Removing URLs & directories
Part II: Removing & updating cached content
Part III: Removing content you don't own
Companion post: Managing what information is available about you online

Understanding the status of your requests

Once you've submitted a removal request, it will appear in your list of requests. You can check the status of your requests at any time to see whether the content has been removed, or whether the request is still or pending or was denied.

screenshot of removal requests and their status

If a request was denied, you should see a "Learn more" link next to it explaining why that particular request was denied. Since different types of removals have different requirements, the reason why a particular request was denied can vary. The "Learn more" link should help you figure out what you need to change in order to make your request successful. For example, you may need to change the URL in question so that it meets the requirements for the type of removal you requested; or, if you can't do that, you may need to request a different type of removal (one whose requirements your URL currently meets).

If a request has been marked "Removed" but you still see that content in search results, check the following:
  • Is the URL that's appearing in search results the exact same URL that you submitted for removal? It's fairly common for the same, or similar, content to appear on multiple URLs on a site. You may have successfully removed one URL, but still see others containing that same content.
Solution: Request removal of the other URL(s) in question. See this article for help.

  • Keep in mind that URLs are case sensitive, so requesting removal of http://www.example.com/embarrassingstuff.html is not the same as requesting removal of http://www.example.com/EmbarrassingStuff.html
Solution: Request removal of the exact URL(s) that appear in search results, including the same capitalization. See this article for help.

  • When a request is marked "Removed," that can mean different things depending on what type of request you submitted. If you requested removal of an entire URL, then "Removed" should mean that that entire URL no longer appears in our search results. If you requested removal of the cached copy of a URL, "Removed" means that the cached copy has been removed and will no longer appear in search results; but the URL itself may still appear.
Solution: Double-check what type of removal you requested by looking at the "Removal Type" column. If you requested a cache removal but you want the entire URL gone, make sure the URL meets the requirements for complete removal and then file a new request for complete removal of the URL.
When not to use the URL removal tool
  • To clean up cruft, like old pages that 404.
The tool is intended for URLs that urgently need to be removed, such as confidential data that was accidentally exposed. If you recently made changes to your site and just have some outdated URLs in the index, Google's crawlers will see this as we recrawl your URLs, and those pages will naturally drop out of our search results over time. There's no need to request an urgent removal through this tool.

  • To remove crawl errors from your Webmaster Tools account.
The removal tool removes URLs from Google's search results, not from your Webmaster Tools account. There's currently no way for you to manually remove URLs from this report; they will drop out naturally over time as we stop crawling URLs that repeatedly 404.

  • To "start from scratch" with your site.
If you're worried that your site may have a penalty, or you want to "start from scratch" after purchasing a domain from someone else, we don't recommend trying to use the URL removal tool to remove your entire site and then "start over." Search engines gather a lot of information from other sites (such as who links to you, or what words they use to describe your site) and use this to help understand your site. Even if we could remove everything we currently know about your site, a lot of it would come back exactly the same once we'd recrawled all the other sites that help us understand your site and put it in context. If you're worried that your domain has some bad history, we recommend filing a reconsideration request letting us know what you're worried about and what has changed (such as that you've acquired the domain from someone else, or that you've changed certain aspects of your site).

  • To take your site "offline" after hacking.
If your site was hacked and you want to get rid of bad URLs that got indexed, you can use the URL removal tool to remove any new URLs that the hacker created, e.g., http://www.example.com/buy-cheap-cialis-skq3w598.html. But we don't recommend removing your entire site, or removing URLs that you'll eventually want indexed; instead, simply clean up the hacking and let us recrawl your site so that we can reindex the new, cleaned-up content as soon as possible. This article contains more details on how to deal with hacking.

  • To get the right "version" of your site indexed.
When a request to remove https://www.example.com/tattoo.html is accepted, http://www.example.com/tattoo.html is also removed. The same is true of the www and non-www versions of your URL or site. This is because the same content is often available at each of these URLs and we realize that most webmasters and searchers don't want these duplicates appearing in search results. In short, the URL removal tool should not be used as a canonicalization tool. It won't keep your favorite version, it'll remove all versions (http/https and www/non-www) of a URL.
We hope this series has answered your questions about removing content from Google's search results, and helped you troubleshoot any issues that may arise. Join us in our Help Forum if you still have questions.

from web contents: The Impact of User Feedback, Part 1 2013

salam every one, this is a topic from google web master centrale blog:

About a year ago, in response to user feedback, we created a paid links reporting form within Webmaster Tools. User feedback, through reporting paid links, webspam, or suggestions in our Webmaster Help Group, has been invaluable in ensuring that the quality of our index and our tools is as high as possible. Today, I'd like to highlight the impact that reporting paid links and webspam has had on our index. In a future post, I'll showcase how user feedback and concerns in the Webmaster Help Group have helped us improve our Help Center documentation and Webmaster Tools.

Reporting Paid Links

As mentioned in the post Information about buying and selling links that pass PageRank, Google reserves the right to take action on sites that buy or sell links that pass PageRank for the purpose of manipulating search engine rankings. Even though we work hard to discount these links through algorithmic detection, if you see a site that is buying or selling links that pass PageRank, please let us know. Over the last year, users have submitted thousands and thousands of paid link reports to Google, and each report can contain multiple websites that are suspected of selling links. These reports are actively reviewed, and the feedback is invaluable to improve our search algorithms. We also are willing to take manual action on a significant fraction of paid link reports as we continue to improve our algorithms. More importantly, the hard work of users who have already reported paid links has helped improve the quality of our index for millions. For more information on reporting paid links, check out this Help Center article.

Reporting Webspam

Google has also provided a form to report general webspam since November 2001. We appreciate users who alert us to potential abuses for the sake of the whole Internet community. Spam reports come in two flavors: an authenticated form that requires registration in Webmaster Tools, and an unauthenticated form. We receive hundreds of reports each day. Spam reports to the authenticated form are given more weight and are individually investigated more often. Spam reports to the unauthenticated form are assessed in terms of impact, and a large fraction of those are reviewed as well. As Udi Manber, VP of Engineering & Search Quality mentioned in his recent blog post on our Official Google Blog, in 2007 more than 450 new improvements were made to our search algorithms. A number of those improvements were related to webspam. It's not an understatement to say that users who have taken the time to report spam were essential to many of those algorithmic enhancements.

Going forward

As users' expectations of search increase daily, we know it's important to provide a high quality index with relevant results. We're always happy to hear stories in our Webmaster Help Group from users who have have reported spam with noticeable results in our Webmaster Help Group. Now that you know how Google uses feedback to improve our search quality, you may want to tell us about webspam you've seen in our results. Please use our authenticated form to report paid links or other types of webspam. Thanks again for taking the time to help us improve.this is a topic published in 2013... to get contents for your blog or your forum, just contact me at: devnasser@gmail.com

seo Reasons You Would Need To Convert Wma To Mp3 2013

Seo Master present to you:

Reasons You Would Need To Convert Wma To Mp3

WMA and MP3 files are very similar because they sound nearly the same in terms of quality, are both relatively small files and they only support audio information. At the same time, there are many reasons why you should convert a WMA into an MP3. This is especially true if you aren’t running the Windows OS or if you enjoy using mobile technology.

Apple Computers:

The Apple OS has exponentially increased in popularity due to the iPhone, iPod and iPad. While WMAs can be used on an Apple computer, it can be fairly difficult. This is because this OS is not natively meant to use these files since they were made for a Windows environment. You can get around this by using a special Mac WMA player, but the player just temporarily converts the WMA into a suitable format for the Mac. This means that you often need to wait a few seconds for this temporary conversion to finish before the file will play.

It’s much easier to play MP3 files within an Apple environment. QuickTime easily supports these files and you don’t need any special software.

Mobile Devices:

While there are some mobile devices that can play WMA files, mostly Windows devices, the vast majority of tablets and smartphones are meant to work with MP3s. This is often because MP3 files are somewhat easier to play and they have become very popular due to overwhelming support from many Apple mobile devices. MP3s also don’t have a security protocol, which means that the programs needed to play them are much easier to build when compared to making a WMA player.

If you have an Apple, Android or BlackBerry device, then it’s a good idea to convert your WMAs into MP3s. It’s a good idea to convert the files into MP3s anyway because every mobile device, even Windows ones, support MP3 files due to their popularity.

Smaller Footprint:

Though they are both relatively small formats that don’t require much memory, MP3s are often smaller than WMAs. Not only that, but their quality is similar in most situations. There’s no reason to use WMAs if space is an issue. You can often reduce your media library by about 50MB to 100MB by converting your files, depending on how large your media library is.

The reason why MP3s are smaller is because they disregard inaudible noise. WMAs will keep this information in the file, but MP3s will erase it so that the file has to support less overall data.

Somewhat Better Quality:

While both of these formats are similar when it comes to quality, many people consider MP3s slightly better. This is usually the case if the file is set to a moderate or high bit rate. Some people can’t tell the difference, but many audiophiles agree that MP3s are superior to WMAs.

The only time when this is different is if the bit rate is set very low. WMAs tend to be better in this scenario, but the difference is slight.

iTunes Support:

Many people love using iTunes even if they don’t have an Apple device because this makes it very easy to manage your media library. While there are other interfaces that offer similar functions and capabilities, few programs have been able to rival iTunes in terms of popularity and overall support. The problem is that iTunes is fairly exclusive when it comes to file support.

iTunes will not accept WMA files. You must convert the audio files into MP3s if you want to add them to iTunes.

Versatility:

WMA files are not as versatile as MP3s. This isn’t because WMAs are inferior. It’s because MP3s have much more support. MP3 files can be used with many media library interfaces, mobile devices, editing programs and so on. WMAs are sometimes supported by these programs, but not as often as MP3s. If you want a file that is very versatile, then you need to convert your files into MP3s.

Conclusion:

While both formats are great and have their own advantages, many people consider the MP3 a superior format. This is because the files are usually smaller, sound better, work with most mobile devices and have more support. If you want all of these advantages, then just convert your WMA files. The entire process shouldn’t take long since most audio files are relatively small.

seo My personal Media.net review and experience. 2013

Seo Master present to you:

Media.net is a contextual advertising network similar to AdSense with Yahoo! Bing network
shaking hands with media.net to provide better revenue earning systems to publishers. Its relatively new to AdSense and is seen as better AdSense alternative. However, my personal experience till date is not so encouraging.

▌How I got approved.
There is no sign-up process. You request an invite from their website filling out all the details and they will manually review every site / blog. If they find your blog complying with their policies, they will accept you. I didn't have much problem getting approved since I already have optimized my site in accordance to AdSense program policies and more or less, its same for Media.net. You may want to read how to get approved by AdSense.

▌Whats benefit of Media.net?

○ The Ads are very much targeted and contextual. So you don't have to worry much about bad User experience.

○ A very good customer support. Mail them any problem you have, and they will reply you within 48 hours. That never works with AdSense.

○ Really less chances of getting banned like AdSense. Even if you are, you have someone to ask the reason, and most probably you will be replied.

○ Ads are new. Visitors have become blind to AdSense ad units. Media.net provide new Ads sizes and units and customization is much easier and better.

▌After Approval, 1st week.
I placed one Ad unit each on 2 of my blogs. The earning was simply amazing. Yeah!! The minimum RPM was $2. i earned an RPM of even 18$ for one particular day. I was damn excited. I started replacing AdSense ad units with Media.net units, downgrading AdSense to second choice for earning. It went the same for almost 2 weeks.

▌What Next!!
zero RPM media.net
RPM dropped to zero! I thought it may be due to any traffic problem or my blog may not have generated quality traffic. But the RPM never really increased till date. I am still keeping one ad unit on each blog, but RPM is still zero. For the last 2k visitors, I have earned zero.

▌Why I switched Back to AdSense.

○ With AdSense, at least I know how i get paid. How much clicks I received and CPC. Media.net is not transparent enough. They don't tell you how you earned, whether it was Clicks or impressions that increased your balance.

○ Each site needs to be approved. If i maintain 10 blogs, I have to apply for each blog separately. With AdSense, if you are approved once, you can place ads on any blog/websites that complies with AdSense program policies.

○ Not suitable for blogger domains. If you have a blog blog.blogspot.com, then perhaps you will miss a good amount of visitors. Google has incorporated Blogger's domain redirection.  That means you will have to get approved for each of the domain separately .com, .in, .au, and the list is endless.

▌Now what I am gonna do.
I will keep this option for another month with a close eye on my earning. If the RPM sticks to zero, I will remove the Ads and believe that old rule, "AdSense is best".

Have you tried Media.net? Whats your experience? Share with us.

seo How Apple is Ruling the World? [Infographic] 2013

Seo Master present to you:

Apple is ruling the world of technology by telling the world what it needs. Steve Jobs and Apple dream up new technology and market it in such a way that everyone feels they have to have the newest technology and gadgets. Apple's iPad was the first to allow people to wirelessly connect to the internet to read papers, books and surf the internet.

Apple is taking advantage of the fact that at least half of Americans own smart phones. Apple continues to create and market smart phone applications. More and more people are buying tablets. Apple has sold almost twelve million iPads. Currently, over half of Apple's sales come from Asia.

Stock prices are soaring. In fact, Apple is planning to buy back some stock. Apple seems to know what customers want, and they know how to develop, create, market and place these products on the shelves long before any other company. In the last five years alone, Apple has sold 365 million items.

from web contents: New ways to view Webmaster Tools messages 2013

salam every one, this is a topic from google web master centrale blog: Webmaster Level: All

Now there’s a new way to see just the messages for a specific site. A new Messages feature will appear on all site pages. The feature is just like the Message Center on the home page, except it‘ll show only messages for the currently selected site. This gives you more freedom to choose how you want to view your messages: either for all your sites, or for just one site at a time.

Alerts (formally known as SiteNotice messages) will now be more prominent in the Message Center. These messages tell you about significant changes we’ve noticed related to your site which may indicate serious problems. For instance, alerts may warn you about an increase in crawl errors, an increase in 404 errors, or about possible outages. With their newfound prominence comes a new name: what used to be “SiteNotice messages” will now simply be known as “alerts.”

Messages containing alerts will be marked with an icon to make them quickly distinguishable from other messages. Each site’s Dashboard will display a notification whenever the site has unread alerts. The Dashboard notification will lead to the new site Message Center with a filter enabled to show only alerts for the current site.

You can also enable the alerts filter yourself. On the home page, enabling the alerts filter across all your sites is a great way to see alerts you may have missed and may help you find problems common across multiple sites. Even with these changes we recommend you use the email forwarding feature to receive these important alerts without having to visit Webmaster Tools.

We hope these new features make it easier to manage your messages. If you have any questions, please post them in our Webmaster Help Forum or leave your comments below.
