seo Fridaygram: Colossus revealed, risk-taking bees, super attire 2013

Seo Master present to you: Author Photo
By Scott Knaster, Google Developers Blog Editor

The world’s first programmable computer was Colossus, built in England in 1943. During World War II, Colossus was used to break codes at the UK’s famed decryption center at Bletchley Park. With a little help from its friends, Bletchley Park was recently saved from destruction, and many of its historic sites are now being restored. This week, a gallery dedicated to Colossus opened at the National Museum of Computing, housed at Bletchley Park.

rebuilt Colossus
Colossus rebuilt. You can see it at The National Museum of Computing in the UK.
Reproduced with kind permission of The National Museum of Computing.

Even many years after the war, Colossus was kept secret. Another big secret, just discovered, is about honeybees: they’re not all alike. Researchers have found that some worker bees seem to be more interested than others in novel behaviors such as finding a new home for the hive. (Let’s call these the startup bees.) Scientists studied the genetic foundation for varying behaviors, and using chemical treatments, they were able to change whether bees were likely to display this “novelty-seeking” behavior.

Speaking of novelty, if you happen to be in Knoxville, Tennessee any time in March, you can check out some knitted superhero costumes on display at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville's Ewing Gallery. They’re perfect for wearing to your favorite upcoming superhero movie.

Ludicrous transitions are just part of the fun here at Fridaygram, where we take a break from the real news once a week. Each Fridaygram item must pass only one test: it has to be interesting to us nerds. By the way, the main topic of today’s post has no connection to this amazing movie, which features a great performance by Paul Frees (uncredited, of course).

seo Integrate, Publish, Sell - The Google Apps Marketplace 2013

Seo Master present to you: The Google Apps Marketplace, announced this evening at Campfire One, allows you to publish applications which integrate with Google Apps and sell them to more than 2 million businesses. Listing your integrated cloud app on the Google Apps Marketplace enables it to have seamless OpenID-based single sign-on with Google Apps, OAuth-authorized access to Google Apps data and makes it easy for customers to access your application from Google Apps' universal navigation bar.

There are three simple steps for a Google Apps Marketplace application:
1) Have or create a cloud application and host it on the platform of your choice
2) Integrate your cloud app with Google Apps using available APIs
3) Create a manifest file describing your application and list it for sale on the Marketplace

The Google Apps Marketplace launched with more than 50 applications from companies like Intuit and Atlassian, with more coming soon from companies like NetSuite and SuccessFactors. We hope you'll join them by integrating with Google Apps and selling your applications on the Google Apps Marketplace to our more than 25 million users and 2 million businesses.

For more information on the Google Apps Marketplace, please see our post on the new Google Apps Developer blog. You can also dive into the details of how to sell your application in the Google Apps Marketplace by visiting our Developer Programs site and technical documentation. And if you'll be at Google I/O this year, you can learn first-hand from the team in the Google Apps sessions on May 19-20 in San Francisco.

seo Facebook marketing for your blog 2013

Seo Master present to you:

Facebook is the largest social networking site today. With about a billion users and still counting, if used efficiently, Facebook can drive a huge amount of quality traffic to your blog. All you need is a little bit of time and some strategy for Facebook marketing of your blog. Marketing on Facebook is a little bit difficult since it is possible that the kind of page you set up for your blog has already about a thousand to compete with. The people on Facebook has become resistant to ads and the marketing on pages and groups. There are numerous ways of being busy in activities on Facebook , so driving a person to your blog while he is chatting with anyone of his friend needs something extraordinary. Lets discuss the simple strategy for Facebook marketing for your blog.

  • Create a page. Keep your page name as informative as possible Try to keep it short and it should reflect what is inside that page. Upload a meaningful profile picture to your page. Don't put 'Sachin Tendulkar' profile pic on a 'body building' page. Fill the 'about' page. Don't eat up words. Give up full explanation to the page.

  • Create a group. Creating a group while using Facebook for marketing your blog includes the same steps as creating a page. However, Group is considered as more discussion friendly and for sharing. Keeping an informative name to your group, adding a profile picture and cover photo will make it more interactive and people will tend to join your group. Stay in touch with group. Respond to peoples and keep encouraging discussions in your topic on topics related to your blogs. Giving a reference of your blog in return to someone's query is a good idea to promote your blog. Thanks someone who take time and give you a share or a like.

  • Let other users communicate thorough your page or your group. Allow other people to post or discuss in your group. Don't limit it to yourself. Keep it open to everyone. And always show your active participation. Add all your friends to your groups and invite them for your page and ask some of your close friends to do that for you. It will take no more than 5 minutes for them. This will help in building a audience base for your blog. Getting 500 members in either a page or a group is a great thing can drive to your blog a huge and consistent traffic.

  • Share them. Share your page and group to as many people as possible. Make them join. Ask your friends to invite their friends and share your page on their timeline. A single share will reach to all people in their friend list, and chances are that someone in their friend list will share it again. You may even use other platforms to connect on Facebook to your audience. You can even put your group's link on your blog itself asking people to join you for regular updates.

Thus, Facebook is one of the biggest marketing place for your blog and spending some quality time to connect to your audience can get you huge traffic. The only problem is that you need to make yourself more interesting than millions of pages and groups which is a challenging task. And doing something challenging gives you a sense of pride. :)

seo How to remove/hide or add a Peek A Boo Effect to your Blogger Navbar 2013

Seo Master present to you:
What is Blogger Navbar?
Frist time somebody creates a blog in blogger.com, a bar will show up at the very top of a blog page. This bar is known as the Blogger Navbar (Blogger Navigation Bar) and it usually appears by default at the top of every hosted Blogspot blog.

Blogger navbar functions include:
  • [B] (blogger logo): takes you back to blogger's homepage
  • Search Blog: you can make searches on the blog and results will appear directly on the page.
  • Follow: you can follow the blog you're currently viewing (blog updates will appear on your Blogger dashboard at Reading List - if you're not logged, you'll see a Share link, which allows you to share you favorite blogs on social networks like Twitter, Facebook, Google buzz, and Google Reader)
  • Report abuse: you can report a blog if you consider its content objectionable (e.g., pornography);
  • NextBlog: takes you to a random, recently-updated Blogger blog.
  • email address@: If you are logged in to your account, you'll see your own address here. Other viewers will see their own email addresses, or none at all if they aren't logged in.
  • Post: Direct link to the post editor
  • Design: this link takes you to Page Elements, where you can add gadgets/widgets for your blog
  • Sign In/Out: This displays the appropriate option, depending on whether you're logged in or not.

Blogger navbar is available in several colors, and is configured in the Template tab in Blogger's interface.

It can be useful but the only real disadvantage is visual. If you have customized design, Navbar usually doesn't fit in.

In this tutorial, I'll show you how to remove it or add a peek-a-boo effect.

seo Google Prediction API 1.5 adds enumeration, analysis, and more 2013

Seo Master present to you: Author Photo
By Marc Cohen, Developer Relations

The Google Prediction API Team has been hard at work on Release 1.5, which is available now, with the following new features:
  • Model enumeration. We’ve added the ability to list all of your models via the trainedmodels.list request. You can obtain the entire list in one response or you can iterate through a large listing in pieces using the maxResults and pageToken options.

  • Model analysis. We’ve added the ability to obtain more detailed information about data and models via the trainedmodels.analyze request, which returns information about the trained model’s output values, features, confusion matrix, and other information.

  • Simplified get method. We’ve simplified the output returned by the trainedmodels.get request. Model analysis data that previously was returned by a get request (e.g. the confusion matrix), is now returned by the new analyze request, along with additional analysis data. The get response now returns a simpler model description along with new timestamps indicating when the model was inserted and when model training completed, which should make it easier to keep track of model lifecycle.

  • New Google App Engine samples. We’ve created two new sample apps illustrating how to use the Prediction API from App Engine, coded in Python and Java. These samples show how to create and manage shared server OAuth 2.0 credentials, and how to make predictions on behalf of any site visitors using the shared server credentials. The sample code is available here and a live version of the sample app is available here: http://try-prediction.appspot.com.
You can read more about the API details here. The new release is available now via the HTTP RESTful interface and our various language-specific client libraries. You can also experiment with the new Prediction API 1.5 interactively via the Google APIs Explorer.

We’re always looking for ways to improve the Prediction API so, as always, please let us know about any problems or feature suggestions you might have. Happy Predicting!

Marc Cohen is a member of Google’s Developer Relations Team in Seattle. When not teaching Python programming and listening to indie rock music, he enjoys using the Google Prediction API to peer into the future.
