from web contents: More details about our webmaster guidelines 2013

salam every one, this is a topic from google web master centrale blog: At SMX Advanced on Monday, Matt Cutts talked about our webmaster guidelines. Later, during Q&A, someone asked about adding more detail to the guidelines: more explanation about violations and more actionable help on how to improve sites. You ask -- we deliver! On Tuesday, Matt told the SMX crowd that we'd updated the guidelines overnight to include exactly those things! We work fast around here. (OK, maybe we had been working on some of it already.)

So, what's new? Well, the guidelines themselves haven't changed. But the specific quality guidelines now link to expanded information to help you better understand how to spot and fix any issues. That section is below so you can click through to explore these new details.

Quality guidelines - specific guidelines

As Riona MacNarmara recently posted in our discussion forum, we are working to expand our webmaster help content even further and want your input. If you have suggestions, please post them in either the thread or as a comment to this post. from web contents: Linking Google Analytics to Webmaster Tools 2013

salam every one, this is a topic from google web master centrale blog: Webmaster level: All

If you use Google Analytics to track site data, you can now link your Webmaster Tools verified site to an Analytics profile when they use the same Google Account.

Not only will your Analytics profiles be accessible within Webmaster Tools, but you'll also be able to more easily access a few Google Analytics features:

  • View your Google Analytics Referring Pages report directly from the Links to your site page in Webmaster Tools. This report helps you understand the overall trends in traffic volume from referrals, as well as the sites driving those trends.

  • Access the Google Analytics Dashboard directly from the Analytics link in the top left bar when you’re on a site-related page.

To link a verified site in Webmaster Tools to a Google Analytics profile:

  1. On the Webmaster Tools home page, click Manage next to the site you want, then click Google Analytics profile.

  2. Select the profile you want to associate with the site, then click Save.

Note: If your site has multiple owners, each owner will need to link their own account to a Google Analytics profile.

from web contents: Google Maps gadget: Help customers find their way 2013

salam every one, this is a topic from google web master centrale blog:
Webmaster Level: All

With the new directions gadget from Google Maps, any business can offer customized Google Maps directions to their business locations. With the directions gadget, you no longer need to type and update multiple sets of text directions. Let's face it: customers are only looking for directions from their specific location.

Last week, I looked up directions to the hotel in Sacramento that I had booked for the 4th of July weekend. As I had never been to that part of the state before, I was puzzled by the limited directions offered by their website - I had no idea whether I was approaching from the North, South, East or West or where the major highways were. What I needed were step-by-step directions from my exact starting point to the hotel that I could easily print and go.

Google has made this process easy for you. By copying and pasting a single line of code, any website can offer customized door-to-door directions powered by Google Maps to their users.

The gadget allows you to pre-fill the "To" field with one or multiple addresses. Customers are able to print their directions with a single click. And for those who prefer not to drive, the gadget also provides walking and public transit directions.

If someone enters a vague starting address, they have the option to specify a more exact address, which will then fly into the "From" field.

Providing directions from Google Maps is very flexible; in addition to run-of-the-mill addresses, you can give your customers directions to everything from a generic ZIP code to a specific set of latitude-longitude coordinates for any of your locations.

Example destinations:
123 River St, Woods, MA
90210
42.06782° N, 71.756963° W

You can also give your address an alias, or a name that everyone will understand. You can do this by putting the alias in parentheses just after the address:

42.06782° N, 71.756963° W (Grandma's House)

Take a look at how Legoland California, Emeril Lagasse, and Harvard University are using the gadget. And then test and create your own directions gadget here. For the many locations outside of the US, the gadget is available in 23 different languages.

seo Why Money Is The Most Important Thing Of The World? 2013

Seo Master present to you:
Financial independence and emotional inter dependence are like a railway track, both should run parallel for your life train to reach its destination, safely an

Money is important to make the world survive. Can you exist without money? Definitely no one can do that. Money is a lifeless commodity very much needed to make you live. It is easier to earn money than to save it. Money plays a vital part in all stages of our life. But the shift towards
achieving monetary affluence is somewhat acquiring a monumental proportion, thrusting aside everything as trivial.

A man is called successful only if he is financially well off. You must work hard, because you need money to look after your family. Your children’s education depend on money, no one is going to provide education for free. You must plan your future in such a way that you have savings in your bank to tide over bad times.

If you do not save, you will be in tremendous pressure when you have to pay your children’s school or college fees. You might need money for shifting to another place, or for some medical expenditure. The need for money is endless.

There were days when I felt love was enough to survive in this world. We were a very close knit family. My husband and daughter gave me more and more love. We were not that well off financially, but that did not stop our laughter. I thought those who said money was the most important thing in the world as someone who had not experienced the beautiful family affinity I enjoyed.

But things started roughening and slowly we came to the bitter truth that money was indeed very important in surviving in this world. As my daughter grew, the need for money also grew, but the sad thing was my husbands business was running into heavy loss. There came a time when we had to burrow for our survival itself. Relatives ignored us; we were after all people worthless, with no money. Who wants relationship with a poor family?

We became even closer, shutting the world to us. But that was not the end, just the beginning of my misery. My husband was diagnosed as suffering from renal failure. ‘Where to go for money needed for his treatment’, I vowed not to seek the help of our relatives. We had one ancestral property and I started burrowing money from our tenant. There were times when I would ask the nurse in the hospital to look after my husband and rush to our place, hundred kilometers away, for money. Those were the nightmarish days. The sad part of it was my husband did not survive.
Yes, love will help us tolerate financial stress, but you need money to overcome your problems, no one is going to help us in our time of hardships. Relationship dwindles to nothingness when you are without money. But, what is the use of money when there is no love. Money can buy whatever the world has got, but it cannot buy happiness. You can buy a house with your money but you need love and care to make it a home. You might be a citizen of a rich and powerful nation but you need a good neighboring country for you to live peacefully.

You must be financially independent. It gives you the power of being what you want to be. You will not become anther man’s slave for want of money. You can give the best education to your children, buy a beautiful house and also take your family to tour the world. These are just the monetary benefits you will achieve; you need to nurture relationship to make you happy, because you will feel empty without love.

Honorable Recommendation:

How to Create Blog that Make you Money

So you must be emotionally inter -dependent to make you whole. Financial independence and emotional inter dependence are like a railway track, both should run parallel for your life train to reach its destination, safely and smoothly.

seo +1'ing our API docs 2013

Seo Master present to you:
By Ashleigh Rentz, API Docs Program Manager

"Hey Scott, how do I format this API call so the data comes back as a string instead of an object?"

Sometimes it’s hard to find the right doc at the right time. Lots of web pages mention the terms you’re looking for, but which ones actually have them in the right context? We ask our friends and coworkers these questions because we bet they’ve seen the problem before. We trust their technical judgment and we know they can skip straight to the right answer.

That’s why we’ve just added the +1 button to the top of most code.google.com API docs:

Whenever you find the key information you need, we hope you’ll +1 that page and let the world know! It’s a simple way to help point the people you code with in the right direction and make RTFM’ing a bit easier for everyone.

Ashleigh Rentz is a Program Manager supporting the team of technical writers who tirelessly document Google’s developer APIs. She can often be seen skating down the halls between meetings.

from web contents: Navigation, Dashboard and Home page 2013

salam every one, this is a topic from google web master centrale blog:
Webmaster level: All

After announcing Webmaster Tools spring cleaning earlier this quarter, it’s time to do the job. There are a few changes coming along: an updated navigation, revamped dashboard, and a compact view for the home page site-list.

Here's the new sample Webmaster Tools Dashboard for www.example.com

We’ve regrouped the features in Webmaster Tools to create an improved navigation structure (shown on the left-hand side of the above image). We distinguished the following groups: Configuration, Health, Traffic and Optimization. Each group represents a related set of functionality:
  • Configuration: Things you configure and generally don’t change very often.
  • Health: Where you look to make sure things are OK.
  • Traffic: Where you go to understand how your site is doing in Google search, who’s linking to you; where you can explore the data about your site.
  • Optimization: Where you can find ideas to enhance your site, which enables us to better understand and represent your site in Search and other services.

If you have a moment, please take time to familiarize yourself with the new Webmaster Tools navigation. Some features were slightly renamed, such as HTML Suggestions became HTML Improvements, however the functionality remains the same.

Hoping you’ll find the new navigation useful, we also think you’ll like the new Dashboard. At the top of the Dashboard you can see recent, important, prioritized messages regarding your site. Just below that, you’ll find another section which provides a brief summary of the current status of your site. There are three widgets displayed: Crawl Errors, Search Queries and Sitemaps, each representing a different navigation group: Health, Traffic and Optimization (respectively). We know your time is valuable. With the new Dashboard, we've surfaced more messages and charts to let you see how your site is doing at a glance. Take a quick look before diving into the details.

Finally, those of you who manage a large number of sites can choose to view your site-list in a 'Compact' layout, without the large site-preview thumbnails. Don't worry, if you want the more expanded layout you can always switch back.

Compact layout of the Home page

If you have questions or comments about these changes please post them in our Help Forum.

from web contents: Adding Images to your Sitemaps 2013

salam every one, this is a topic from google web master centrale blog: Webmaster Level: All

Sitemaps are an invaluable resource for search engines. They can highlight the important content on a site and allow crawlers to quickly discover it. Images are an important element of many sites and search engines could equally benefit from knowing which images you consider important. This is particularly true for images that are only accessible via JavaScript forms, or for pages that contain many images but only some of which are integral to the page content.

Now you can use a Sitemaps extension to provide Google with exactly this information. For each URL you list in your Sitemap, you can add additional information about important images that exist on that page. You don’t need to create a new Sitemap, you can just add information on images to the Sitemap you already use.

Adding images to your Sitemaps is easy. Simply follow the instructions in the Webmaster Tools Help Center or refer to the example below:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
  <urlset xmlns="http://www.sitemaps.org/schemas/sitemap/0.9"
   xmlns:image="http://www.google.com/schemas/sitemap-image/1.1">
  <url>
    <loc>http://example.com/sample.html</loc>
    <image:image>
        <image:loc>http://example.com/image.jpg</image:loc>
    </image:image>
  </url>
</urlset>

We index billions of images and see hundreds of millions of image-related queries each day. To take advantage of that traffic most effectively, take a moment to update your Sitemap file with information on the images from your site. Let us know in the Sitemaps forum if you have any questions.

from web contents: Authorship markup and web search 2013

salam every one, this is a topic from google web master centrale blog: Webmaster level: Intermediate

Today we're beginning to support authorship markup—a way to connect authors with their content on the web. We're experimenting with using this data to help people find content from great authors in our search results.

We now support markup that enables websites to publicly link within their site from content to author pages. For example, if an author at The New York Times has written dozens of articles, using this markup, the webmaster can connect these articles with a New York Times author page. An author page describes and identifies the author, and can include things like the author’s bio, photo, articles and other links.

If you run a website with authored content, you’ll want to learn about authorship markup in our Help Center. The markup uses existing standards such as HTML5 (rel=”author”) and XFN (rel=”me”) to enable search engines and other web services to identify works by the same author across the web. If you're already doing structured data markup using microdata from schema.org, we'll interpret that authorship information as well.

We wanted to make sure the markup was as easy to implement as possible. To that end, we’ve already worked with several sites to markup their pages, including The New York Times, The Washington Post, CNET, Entertainment Weekly, The New Yorker and others. In addition, we’ve taken the extra step to add this markup to everything hosted by YouTube and Blogger. In the future, both platforms will automatically include this markup when you publish content.

We know that great content comes from great authors, and we’re looking closely at ways this markup could help us highlight authors and rank search results.

from web contents: Grow your audience with Google+ 2013

salam every one, this is a topic from google web master centrale blog:
Webmaster Level: All

At Google, we help grow your audience by connecting you with new users. We introduced the +1 button so your site would stand out on search and your users could easily share your content on Google+. But, sometimes you want to join the conversation and post content directly to where people are sharing.

Today we’re introducing Google+ for Business, a collection of tools and products that help you grow your audience. At the core of this is Google+ Pages, your site’s identity on Google+.

Google+ Pages: Have real conversations with the right people

To get your site on Google+, you first need to create a Google+ Page. On your page, you can engage in conversations with your visitors, direct readers back to your site for the latest updates, send tailored messages to specific groups of people, and see how many +1’s you have across the web. Google+ Pages will help you build relationships with your users, encouraging them to spend more time engaging with your content.

Google+ Pages are at the heart of Google+ for Business

Hangouts
Sometimes you might want to chat with your users face-to-face.  For example, if you run a food blog, you may want to invite a chef to talk about her favorite recipe, or if you manage a fashion review site, beauty specialists might want to hold how-to sessions with makeup tips. Hangouts make this easy, by letting you have high-quality video chats with nine people with a single click. You can use Hangouts to hold live forums, break news or simply get to know people better, all in real time.

Hangouts let you meet your customers, face-to-face

Circles
Circles allow you to group followers of your Page into smaller audiences. You can then share specific messages with specific groups. For example, you could create a Circle containing your most loyal readers and offer them exclusive content.
The Google+ badge: Grow your audience on Google+

To help your users find your page and start sharing, there are two buttons you can add to your site by visiting our Google+ badge configuration tool:

The Google+ icon, a small icon that directly links to your Page.

The Google+ badge, which we’re introducing in the coming days. This badge lets people add your page to their circles without leaving your site, and allows them to get updates from your site via Google+.

Extend the power of +1, stand out in Google search
You can also link your site to your Google+ page so that all your +1s -- from your Page, your website, and search results -- will get tallied together and appear as a single total. Potential visitors will be more likely to see the recommendations your site has received, whether they’re looking at a search result, your website, or your Page, meaning your +1’s will reach not only the 40 million users of Google+, but all the people who come to Google every day. You can link your site to your Page either using the Google+ badge or with a  piece of code. To set this up, visit our Google+ badge configuration tool.

Bringing Google+ to the rest of Google

Our ultimate vision for Google+ is to transform the overall Google experience -- weaving identity and sharing into all of our products. Beginning today, we’re rolling out a new experimental feature to a small group of eligible publishers, Google+ Direct Connect -- an easy way for your audience to find your Google+ Page on Google search.  If you’ve linked your Page to your site and you qualify, when someone searches for your website’s name with the ‘+’ sign before it Direct Connect will send them directly to your Page. For example, try searching for ‘+YouTube’ on Google. Users will also be prompted to automatically add Pages they find through Direct Connect to their circles.

Direct Connect suggestions start populating as you type on Google.com

Just the beginning

We want to help you get your site on Google+ as soon as possible, so we’re opening the field trial for Google+ Pages to everyone today. Creating a Google+ Page only takes a few minutes. To get started, you’ll need a personal Google+ profile. If you don’t have a Google account, it’s very quick and easy to join. And if you’re looking for inspiration, check out some of the sites that are already starting to set up their Pages:

To learn more about how Google+ works for your site, check out the Google+ Your Business site. We’re just getting started, and have many more features planned for the coming weeks and months. To keep up to date on the latest news and tips, add the Google+ Your Business page to your circles. If you have ideas on how we can improve Google+ for your site, we’d love to hear them.

from web contents: Growing the Webmaster Help Groups Team 2013

salam every one, this is a topic from google web master centrale blog:

One of the ways in which we continuously work to improve our service for users everywhere is to localize and adjust our tools for different regions. In November, we had a chance to introduce our international Webmaster Help Group Team and its guides from Dublin. Today I'm very happy to announce that we've launched three more Google monitored groups in Hebrew, Turkish and Hungarian.

Keeping with tradition, the new guides want to introduce themselves, so please meet our new Webmaster Help Group guides :-)

Turkish Webmaster Help Group
Merhaba! I am Bahar and I am very happy about our brand new Turkish Webmaster Help Group. I will be helping out on any topics related to this new group. Having an engineering background, I've worked in different parts of the IT field as a C and C++ developer and now I work for Google in Dublin. It was quite a big change for me to move here, leaving sunny Istanbul behind. But it was very easy to get used to this new life since I have met really friendly people here who are very enthusiastic about the job they have been doing. You're going to meet a couple of them as well when you keep reading further. Please do not hesitate to have a look at the group and drop your posts either to introduce yourselves or to discuss Webmaster related issues with me and hopefully soon many other helpful, open-minded members!
- Bahar

Hebrew Webmaster Help Group
I’m Alon and I’ll be looking after the Hebrew Webmaster Help Group. Originally coming from the wonderful Israeli city of Holon, now I spend my days and nights in the green island called Ireland. So let me tell you a bit about myself by ranking keywords and their importance in my life: family, social activism, work, web, friends, Tel-Aviv, coffee and rollerblading, to mention a few. Prior to joining Google I graduated in economics and worked as a freelancer in the IT field. I love the online sphere, and for a couple of years now I've been volunteering for an organization facilitating international webmaster communication. I’m looking forward to seeing many of you in our Hebrew Webmaster Help Group.
- Alon

Hungarian Webmaster Help Group
Sziasztok, my name is Tibor, and I am very excited about the launch of the Hungarian Webmaster Help Group. I grew up in the heart of Hungary, in the prosperous and pleasant city of Székesfehérvár, right between Lake Balaton and Budapest. I have an engineering and management background, seasoned with marketing and design experience, and have worked in various assignments, including dozens of web related projects (the first in '94). Today I am a happy owner of a small blog, but have some ambitious plans to start some bigger projects too, to get first hand experience of the constantly growing arsenal of Google's Webmaster Tools! I work primarily on search, dealing with Turkish and Lithuanian languages besides Hungarian. I also oversee trends in a dozen other languages scattered across Europe, the Middle East and Asia. Just like my colleague János, I also enjoy old-school times with StarCraft, and my "weaknesses" also include Guitar Hero and the Nintendo Wii. As Webmaster Tools is now available in Hungarian, I look forward to hearing from you in the Hungarian Webmaster Help Group and to engage myself in vibrant discussions :-)
- Tibor

Hungarian Webmaster Help Group
Sziasztok! My name is János and I'm in charge of the Hungarian Webmaster Help Group, too. I studied linguistics and worked in the IT industry before I ended up with Google in Ireland. Currently my primary work focus is search in several languages. In the past I've been lucky to support a wide range of different markets including Russian, Turkish, Polish and many more. Well, I like learning languages, as you might guess. I'm running my own website where I develop content, sometimes I need to troubleshoot it as well - no crawling/indexing issues yet though - I'm a happy Webmaster Tools user ;-) When I don't work, I'm usually at home surfing the Internet or leading my zealous Protoss forces against other races in the StarCraft universe. Please drop by the Hungarian Help Group and introduce yourself, too! My guide colleague Tibor and I are eagerly waiting to help you with webmaster issues.

from web contents: My site's been hacked - now what? 2013

salam every one, this is a topic from google web master centrale blog: Written by Nathan Johns, Search Quality Team

All right, you got hacked. It happens to many webmasters, even despite the hard work you devote to prevent this type of thing from happening. Prevention tips include keeping your site updated with the latest software and patches, creating an account with Google Webmaster Tools to see what's being indexed, keeping tabs on your log files to make sure nothing fishy's going on, etc. (There's more information in the Quick Security Checklist we posted last year.)

Remember that you're not alone—hacked sites are becoming increasingly common. Getting hacked can result in your site being infected with badware (more specifically malware, one type of badware). Take a look at StopBadware's recently released report on Trends in Badware 2007 for a comprehensive analysis of threats and trends over the previous year. Check out this post on the Google Online Security Blog which highlights the increasing number of search results containing a URL labeled as harmful. For even more in-depth technical reports on the analysis of web-based malware, see The Ghost in the Browser (pdf) and this technical report (pdf) on drive-by downloads. Read these, and you'll have a much better understanding of the scope of the problem. They also include some real examples for different types of malware.

The first step in any case should be to contact your hosting provider, if you have one. Often times they can handle most of the technical heavy lifting for you. Lots of webmasters use shared hosting, which can make it difficult to do some of the things listed below. Certain tips labeled with an asterisk (*) are cases in which webmasters using shared hosting will most likely require assistance from their hosting provider. In the case that you do have full control over your server, we recommend covering these four bases:

Getting your site off-line
  • Take your site off-line temporarily, at least until you know you've fixed things.*
  • If you can't take it off-line, return a 503 status code to prevent it from being crawled.
  • In the Webmaster Tools, use the URL removal tool to remove any hacked pages or URLs from search results that may have been added. This will prevent the hacked pages from being served to users.

Damage Assessment
  • It's a good idea to figure out exactly what the hacker was after.
    • Were they looking for sensitive information?
    • Did they want to gain control of your site for other purposes?
  • Look for any modified or uploaded files on your web server.
  • Check your server logs for any suspicious activity, such as failed login attempts, command history (especially as root), unknown user accounts, etc.
  • Determine the scope of the problem—do you have other sites that may be affected?

Recovery
  • The absolute best thing to do here is a complete reinstall of the OS from a trusted source. It's the only way to be completely sure you've removed everything the hacker may have done.*
  • After a fresh re-installation, use the latest backup you have to restore your site. Don't forget to make sure the backup is clean and free of hacked content too.*
  • Patch any software packages to the latest version. This includes things such as weblog platforms, content management systems, or any other type of third-party software installed.
  • Change your passwords - https://www.google.com/accounts/PasswordHelp

Restoring your online presence
  • Get your system back online.
  • If you're a Webmaster Tools user, sign in to your account
    • If your site was flagged as having malware, request a review to determine whether your site is clean
    • If you used the URL removal tool on URLs which you do want in the index, request that Webmaster Tools re-include your content by revoking the removal.
  • Keep an eye on things, as the hacker may try to return.

Answers to other questions you may be asking:

Q: Is it better to take my site off-line or use robots.txt to prevent it from being crawled?
A: Taking it off-line is a better way to go; this prevents any malware or badware from being served to users, and prevents hackers from further abusing the system.

Q: Once I've fixed my site, what's the fastest way to get re-crawled?
A: The best way, regardless of whether or not your site got hacked, is to follow the Webmaster Help Center guidelines.

Q: I've cleaned it up, but will Google penalize me if the hacker linked to any bad neighborhoods?
A: We'll try not to. We're pretty good at making sure good sites don't get penalized by actions of hackers and spammers. To be safe, completely remove any links the hackers may have added.

Q: What if this happened on my home machine?
A: All of the above still applies. You'll want to take extra care to clean it up; if you don't, it's likely the same thing will happen again. A complete re-install of the OS is ideal.

seo Google Wave at I/O: Learn new APIs & Build your own Wave 2013

Seo Master present to you: Google Wave was first unveiled at Google I/O in 2009, alongside our first draft of Wave APIs and specifications for the open-source world. We worked hard this past year to bring you a host of new features on our first birthday at Google I/O 2010: open sign-ups, attachments and data APIs and open-sourcing of a significant Wave component, the rich text editor.

From seeing demos in the Wave pod in the Developer Sandbox to having conversations with attendees in person, we were excited to see all of the ways people are using Wave and the Google Wave Federation Protocol inside enterprises. It was extremely valuable for us to hear your questions and feedback in person and via the session waves.

For developers out there who weren't able to attend I/O in-person, we hope you can join in virtually by watching the recorded videos of the various talks.
  • Open source Google Wave: Building your own wave provider - Learn how to get your own Wave server running using the currently open-sourced demos, and watch a demo of SAP Streamwork, Novell Pulse, and Google Wave all federating together.

  • Making smart & scalable Wave robots - Learn how to take advantage of version 2 of the Robots API to build more sophisticated robots, and watch a demo of the Go bot - the first example of a robot running on a non-App Engine server, written in the new open-source programming language.

  • Waving across the web - Learn how to use the APIs outside of Google Wave, including embedding waves for discussions on your site, integrating with the WaveThis service, and using the data APIs to build notifiers and alternative clients.

  • Google Wave Media APIs - Attachments can surf too!: Learn how to use the new media/attachments API for both retrieving and creating attachments, and watch demos of robots that turn waves into Powerpoint presentations -- and back!

  • Google Wave and the enterprise environment - Learn how different enterprises are using Wave today, see a walkthrough of Mr. Release, an extension built for our own software development enterprise use case, and watch a demo of SAP Streamwork, an enterprise collaboration software.

  • Google Wave API design principles - Anatomy of a great extension: Learn how to build gadgets and robots that are user-friendly and collaborative, and watch a demo of ProcessWave, a collaborative UML editor.

  • Fireside chat with the Google Wave team - Watch our answers to questions about integration between Google Wave and other products, future features for robots and gadgets, and much more.
In addition to the linked session titles where you'll find the videos and slides, you can also find all videos for Wave sessions in this YouTube playlist.

We welcome any follow-up questions in our forum for any of the video sessions above. Happy waving, and we look forward to seeing you all at next year’s Google I/O!
