Few days back we shared a review on most popular Micromax A110, on which we got many positive and negative views from it’s users all over the world. Now we thought take the review of, much popular Micromax Funbook, which is the name at top of budget tablet lists.

Let’s start the review of Micromax Funbook. Firstly when we got this device in our hand, then we were disappointed with it as it was coming without any Bluetooth connectivity and there is no SIM slot also. These 2 things are featured disadvantage of this tablet. Anyways check the below list of Advantages and disadvantages of Funbook:

Positive points of Micromax Funbook

• First thing the price is very good.
• Comes with Android 4 ICS Operating System which looks good and smooth to operate
• The touch interface is very good and Screen brightness is also upto mark.
• Their are many lots of High graphics games, which runs easily on this tab, but with some system hangup.
• YouTube Video streaming is very good.
• The loud speaker of this tab is good, not so loud too. But it sounds good.
• Good point of having mini-USB port.
• Comes with HDMI port that helps you connect your tab to the television or monitors

Negative Points of Micromax Funbook

• The battery life of this tablet is very poor. You need to charge it within couple of hours.
• When you will run in application then there is mostly the chance you will get an error displaying “Application has stopped working” and it will close that app.
• The tablet lacks SIM slot, so to browse Internet you have to connect any USB Modem or Data Connection with WiFi.
• If you are charging this tab, then the touch Interface will not work properly, which means you can’t do anything properly while charging this tablet.
• Due to low RAM, if you are browsing Internet then it results into System hangup which is very bad experience.

back with another smartphone which has been manufacture by Indian company Karbonn. It is also popular in
India and well known for it’s low price. The Phone is Karbonn A21, installed with many great new features and
hardware. It can easily do 2 jobs at same time due to it’s dual-core processors. Ok, let’s go ahead and have a
full look on this phone.

Design and feel

The exterior of this phone, has very good design which looks good in our hand. The phone comes with dual-
tone colors, the black and white color body. The design is awesome, which doesn’t looks like any cheap phone
in your hand. The phone edges are glossy and white rear panel makes it feel good. The front side of the
phone has 4 touch buttons that is for Home, Menu, Back and Search. The display is large which is positive
point of this phone. The display screen is 4.5-inch in size. The volume buttons are placed at the right side of
the phone while the power and audio jack are placed at the top of the phone. It has a resolution of 540 x 960,
which shows good balance of brightness, contrast and colors at the display screen. You will not feel any
problem regarding the display of this phone.

Performance

The phone features a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon process which is clocked at 1.2GHz. The graphics is
an Adreno graphics processor and it comes with low RAM that is of 512MB of RAM which is not good and not
too bad too. While using the phone you will find that total of 386MB of RAM is in use by Operating System
iteself and the rest is for user apps. The internal storage is 4GB which you can easily extend with a microSD
card. The A21 features dual SIM support, of which one is capable of 3G while the other is 2G. The connectivity
options for this phone are Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB PC interface and much more. For navigation pupose you can
use the A-GPS on board service. The phone comes with 1800 mAh battery.

Speed

While using this phone we were able to find it is faster than the most phones which are having single core
processor in the market. Casual free games downloaded from the Play store would suffice, but keep away
from high-definition and GPU heavy games as they could get sluggish in no time and you will lose out on
battery life in no time.

User Interface

The phone comes with Android 4.0.1 Operating System which has good features and good User Interface.
The phone OS can also be upgraded over the air, when Karbonn releases any update for it. It has stock ICS
home launcher and comes with some of the free apps. While using the phone, you will feel some hangs. Due
to it’s low RAM, but the performance is not so bad too.

Camera

The phone comes with 5MP of camera which is good. If you are taking indoor shoots then you will feel some
low quality in the camera pictures. The quality of pics are very bad. It is like any VGA camera. We were not
happy to see the camera performance of this phone.

Wrap-Up

The phone is good in the price matter. It has good features and some bad features too. The phones battery
last for about 7 hours. With a dual-core processor the performance of the phone is somehow good. The price
of the phone is Rs.11, 990.

1. Download and extract this file.
2. Connect your phone to the system with the help of the supplied USB cable.
3. RUN the “RunMe.bat” file (from the zip downloaded above).
4. Follow the on-screen instructions.
5. Wait for a few minutes for the phone to restart(it may restart a couple of times) and the application to push the root inside the ICS( to be very technical on this, the zip file will anyway contain adb.exe which will start the adb server on your pc).
